Starks Field Primary School

Be The Best You Can Be helps our pupils learn the importance of our six core values: kindness, respect, tolerance, resilience, honesty and self-responsibility.

  1. Our School

Our School

Starks Field Primary School opened in September 2004 as a brand new primary school with 90 children (30 in Reception and 60 in Nursery).

The school is part of the PFI programme with John Laing as the PFI providers.

Set in beautiful grounds, the school is a stunning site with a lot of potential for extending learning using the outdoor envronment. The building itself is cedar clad and has a sedum roof. It has been built to be fully accessible. All the classrooms have direct access to their own outside learning areas (pods) which are partly under cover. A rubber crumb pitch, a netball court, a grass field and an open Key Stage 1 playground in addition to a pond and conservation area provide a lot of space for outdoor learning.

Each phase has its own adventure trail and they are well used.

Inside the building, there are 15 classrooms, a dedicated music room, a library and a practical room which is used for a variety of purposes.

There is a large main hall and a smaller dance hall.

Staff make extensive use of display spaces especially in the corridors which are often home to amazing displays.

From small acorns...

In 2011, the school reached full capacity and went through an emotional last first!  For the first time, we said good bye to Year 6!

Behaviour of our children is consistently commended by visitors or on visits.

2014 sees the school celebrate its 10th anniversary. Arrangements are being made for a celebration.

Our end of Key Stage 2 results, after a rocky start, have improved dramatically and now we can boast standards which compare very well with national averages.
