Starks Field is a happy, vibrant, inclusive successful school with hard working and talented staff. The school is set in extensive grounds where children develop into independent learners. The Governors want to appoint a skilled, resilient and experienced leader who will continue to build on the excellent progress the school has made to date. We are proud that our school has recently been rated by Ofsted as Good (2018) and we want our new Headteacher to continue to build upon our already strongly established good practices.  We are a welcoming and friendly school where our children are at the centre of everything we do.

We work closely with our Local Authority and other local schools and value these relationships. The school is located in the heart of Edmonton in the London Borough of Enfield. We benefit from being part of the Edmonton Schools Partnership which enables us to provide enrichment experiences for our pupils. Starks Field has a rich, diverse vibrant community who are supportive of our school.

Our new Headteacher will be responsible for the day to day activities of the school and ensuring that children come first, you will contribute to, and deliver the school improvement plan, including the next steps set out in the school’s most recent Ofsted inspection report.  In addition, you will also tackle attendance and punctuality issues and have a strong commitment to community engagement. This will include leading on initiatives to ensure that our school is an attractive prospect for parents and pupils looking for a new school.

The governors, staff, pupils and parents are looking for an enthusiastic leader who will continue to raise standards, improve parental engagement and deliver distributed leadership at all levels. The school is the subject of Public Finance Initiative (PFI) funding. You will therefore be expected to deal confidently and competently with the additional partnership and financial challenges this entails.

We are rightly proud of our school and need a Headteacher who has presence and the experience to oversee the continued development of our curriculum, raise levels of academic standards and of pupil progress across a range of abilities and educational needs.  To be successful, you must be able to provide strong, clear leadership and inspire and support staff, ensuring they continue to develop and feel part of a valued team. You must also be able to work collaboratively with the Governing Body to further develop and deliver the strategic vision for our school.

We would love you to come for a visit and experience our unique school for yourself. Please contact Ms Keon, School Business Manager on 020 8887 6060 or email: to make an appointment. If you would like to talk to our chair of Governors during the summer break then please send an email to Ms Keon.
