Actual Salary Range: £17,180 - £18,641 (Scale 4)

We are looking to recruit a qualified Teaching Assistant who is keen to be part of a highly-skilled workforce and support the learning of the wonderful pupils throughout the school. Duties will include supporting pupils’ learning; planning, developing and implementing creative and learning activities to raise the level of achievement of all pupils you work with; cover in class to enable teachers to attend meetings, training, etc.; provide 1:1 support as directed by senior leaders; work as part of a busy team; ensuring the safety and well-being of children at all times; following health and safety policies and procedures; carrying out observations of children; writing reports; supervising play; assisting on trips to places of interest with children; and interacting with parents and updating them on their child's progress.
We are interested in appointing candidates that might fit any of the following:
- Are you interested in a career in teaching but need school experience to be able to apply for a degree course?
- Are you currently a Teaching Assistant in a school and are now looking for promotion?
- Do you have a degree but need school experience to be able to apply for a teaching course?
- Are you interested in working with children and feel you meet the job specification and can fulfil the job description?
- Do you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills?
- Are you educated to at least GCSE standard, including English and Maths (grade A-C) or equivalent?
- Do you have a command of spoken English that is sufficient to effectively carry out the duties of the role?
We might even be able to offer you a route into teaching through the Graduate TA role as we are now working in partnership with a School Direct provider to successfully train support staff, with a degree, to become a teacher.
