Starks Field is a happy, vibrant, inclusive and successful school with hard-working and talented staff. The school is located in the heart of Edmonton in the London Borough of Enfield and set in extensive grounds where children can develop into independent learners. We are proud that our school has been recently rated by Ofsted as Good (2018).
The Governors want to appoint a skilled, resilient and experienced leader who will work closely with the Headteacher to build on the excellent progress the school has made to date. We are a welcoming and friendly school where our children are at the centre of everything we do. We work closely with our Local Authority and other local schools and value these relationships. We benefit from being part of the Edmonton Schools Partnership, which enables us to provide enrichment experiences for our pupils. Starks Field has a rich and diverse community who are supportive of our school.
You will be responsible for assisting the Headteacher in supervising the day-to-day activities of the school, ensuring that children come first. You will contribute to, and help deliver, the school improvement plan, including the next steps set out in the school’s most recent Ofsted inspection report. In addition, you will tackle attendance and punctuality issues, take a lead on data and have a strong commitment to community engagement. This will include leading on initiatives to ensure that our school is an attractive prospect for parents and pupils looking for a new school.
We are rightly proud of our school and need a Deputy Headteacher who has presence and the experience to help oversee the continued development of our curriculum, raise levels of academic standards and of pupil progress across a range of abilities and educational needs. The school is the subject of Public Finance Initiative (PFI) funding. You will therefore be expected to deal confidently and competently with the additional partnership and financial challenges this entails.
To be successful, you must be able to provide strong, clear leadership and inspire and support staff, ensuring they continue to develop and feel part of a valued team. You must also be able to work collaboratively with the Headteacher and Governing Body to further develop and deliver the strategic vision for our school and take full responsibility for the school in the absence of the Headteacher.
We would love you to come for a visit and experience our unique school for yourself. You would also be welcome to have a chat with our Chair of Governors. Please contact Sharon Keon, School Business Manager on 020 8887 6060 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment.
